Privacy Policy
Oria Haven is a Perth wellness directory run from Western Australia. This page explains what we collect, why, and who else sees it. It is written to be read rather than to be technically unassailable, so if anything here is unclear, email hello@oriahaven.com.au and we will explain it properly.
The short version
- We collect what you type into our forms, and very little else.
- If you ask us to match you with practices, we pass your details to those practices. Your confirmation email names exactly who received them.
- We do not sell your information to anybody, ever.
- You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, and we will.
What we collect
When you ask to be matched with a practice
Your name, email address, phone number if you give us one, what you are looking for, the area that suits you, when suits you, and anything you write in the notes box. We ask you not to include medical details in that box, and we would rather you did not.
When you enquire with a practice directly
The same details, passed to that one practice.
When you claim or list a practice
Your name, email, phone if given, and whatever you tell us to help confirm the practice is yours. If your claim is approved we create an account for you, which stores your email address and a password you set yourself. We never see your password.
When you ask for a website review
Your name, email, the address of your website, and anything you add. We fetch your website once to look at it, the same way any visitor would.
When you simply read the site
We count page views and clicks on listings so practices can see how their profile is performing. Those counts are totals — a number against a listing — and are not tied to you. We also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies and collects the usual things: pages visited, rough location, device and browser. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on.
Who else sees it
Practices you ask to be introduced to. This is the whole point of the matching service, so it is worth being plain about: when you use it, the practices we match you with receive your name, email, phone if you gave one, and what you asked for. They reply to you directly. Your receipt lists exactly which practices received your details. We do not give your details to any practice you did not ask to be matched with.
Services we use to run the site. Our hosting provider stores the site and its database. Google Analytics measures traffic. Google’s Places service supplies some public business information and photographs shown on listings. Where paid plans are active, card payments are handled by our payment provider — we never see or store card numbers. Email is delivered by our mail provider.
Nobody else. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not pass it to advertisers.
Information about practices
Many listings were built from information the business had already published — its own website, its public social pages, and public business records. We do not publish anything a business has not already made public itself.
If you run a practice listed here and something is wrong, tell us and we will correct it. If you would rather not be listed at all, tell us and we will remove the listing, usually the same day. You do not have to give a reason, and it costs nothing.
Cookies
We use cookies for two things: keeping you signed in if you have an account, and Google Analytics. We do not run advertising cookies or tracking pixels for third parties. Blocking cookies in your browser will stop the analytics and will stop sign-in working; everything else on the site will be fine.
How long we keep things
Enquiries and match requests are kept while they are useful for answering questions about what was sent and to whom, and then deleted. Practitioner accounts are kept while the account exists. Analytics totals are aggregate numbers and are kept indefinitely because they are not about you.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@oriahaven.com.au and we will come back to you within a few days. There is no form and no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, we would like the chance to fix it first. If that does not resolve things, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, accounts are password-protected, and access to the database is limited to people who need it. No website can promise perfect security, and we are not going to pretend otherwise — but we do not store card details, and we hold very little about you in the first place.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say so on the site rather than quietly editing the page.
