RelaxIndulge

Kelmscott's float rooms sit inside a broader day-spa menu: floatation therapy alongside massage, infrared sauna and beauty treatments, making it easy to stack a float with table work in one visit. One of the only float options in the south-eastern corridor.

How Oria chooses these sound & float places

2 of the 30 sound & float listings in the directory match this view. The count is live, and the order puts specialists first — paid placement never moves anyone up it.

As of October 2026, 2 of the 30 Sound & float listings on Oria Haven are in this view (Perth) — counted live from the directory.

1 place here publishes a starting price, from $129 to $129.

Every listing is hand-checked by Oria Haven. Figures updated 8 October 2026.

Most relevant means practices that specialise in this first, then the ones with the most reviews to go on. A listing that publishes its price, describes itself and names its services gets a small nudge, never more than a quarter of a star, because you can decide on it without ringing. Paid placements are shown once, in their own band, and never move anyone up the list.

The guide

Before you go: sound & float in Perth

Both halves of this category ask the same thing of you: lie down and stay there. What differs is whether the hour is filled with sound or emptied of it.

A sound bath is a room of mats, blankets and instruments — gongs, crystal or Tibetan bowls, sometimes a handpan — played around and over you while you lie still. Sessions usually run 45 to 75 minutes, you keep your clothes on, and you can leave whenever you like. Some studios pair one with yoga nidra or a breathwork session in the same evening.

Float venues run either enclosed tanks or open pools, both filled with heavily salted water held at skin temperature so you lose track of where the water stops. An hour is standard. First-timers get a briefing, earplugs and the option of leaving the lid up or the light on — ask, because nobody will assume you want to.

Our guide covers what actually happens at a sound bath. Related: meditation classes, sleep and recovery, reiki.

Trend to Try

WA’s first floating sauna, on Pemberton Pool

Reel by Australia’s South West @australias_southwest · South West, Western Australia

Reel by Australia’s South West, the regional tourism account, posted 12 August 2026 with @floatingsauna_pembertonpool.

It captures the setting and the whole hot–cold ritual — including the dive that deserves a word of caution.

Your first visit

What to expect at your first massage session

A massage appointment is one practitioner, one room, and a table. Nothing is asked of you except that you turn up and say where it hurts.

  • Session length 45–90 min
  • Group size Solo
  • Experience needed None

From arrival to heading home

  1. Before your visit

    • Five to ten minutes early. The first appointment usually starts with a short written health history — what you do for work, injuries, anything you are being treated for.
    • Whatever you arrived in. You undress in private once the therapist has left the room.
  2. During the session

    • A few minutes talking first: what you want from the hour, where the trouble is, how much pressure you like.
    • The therapist leaves the room while you undress to your comfort and get under the towel.
    • You are covered the whole time. Only the part being worked on is uncovered, and it is re-covered before they move on.
    • They will check the pressure early and you can change it at any point. Saying it is too much is normal and expected.
    • A minute or two to get up slowly at the end, and a glass of water on the way out.

A little preparation

  • What to bring Nothing. Towels and everything else are provided.

This describes what these sessions are generally like, not any one venue on this page. Facilities and policies vary, so check anything that matters to you with the venue before you book.
