About
Fremantle's Spanda School runs structured silent retreats built on non-dual meditation, gentle movement and rest — one-day sittings at the school itself, and three- and seven-day residentials at Donnelly Lakes near Pemberton. Two formats serve different depths of practice: a guided version for those newer to silence, and longer unguided sits for experienced meditators. Around a hundred students come through each year, some from interstate and overseas.

Fabulous yoga studio – very highly recommended! The yin yoga and meditation sessions are always excellent, with a range of teachers each of whom are subtly distinctive in their practice, which just adds to each session. A warm, friendly and welcoming space too. Been coming a year or two, but if you have no previous experience of yoga and meditation – as I did - do check out this studio.
I can recommend Spanda Yoga School in more than 100 aspects! The service and understanding they have give me through the years of being learning and practicing with the team is really amazing. That unique feeling of unwind and restore as soon as I arrive to the studio is very especial and unique. You all have been so helpful and inspiring, thank you all!
I have always loved attending the Cacao Ceremonies at Spanda Yoga School, but the recent one I attended was a big highlight. Not only was the cacao, prepared lovingly by Ale, so sublime (she added cardamom, ginger and rose petals among other lovely things), the ceremony itself was transformative and deeply calming. It's like being inside a cocoon of peace and love at the studio. The addition of the art therapy was really useful in putting my thoughts onto paper in a fun and creative way. My artwork is on my fridge as a reminder of what came up during the session :) Highly recommended for anyone who loves to dive deep and discover what comes to the surface :)
I love Spanda yoga! In the last two years I’ve had issues with my foot (3 surgeries) and since I have been doing yoga with Spanda I have been able to flex my foot for the first time so I am very grateful! My regular yoga practice at Spanda has also helped with my stress levels and encouraging whole body movement. Thank you to the whole team!
My Yoga journey with Spanda began in February of this year. I have enjoyed rediscovering my love for asana with the beautiful teachers at Spanda. Each teacher is unique with their own special magic that they bring to every class. I personally prefer the slower more restorative types of yoga (Yin and Hatha) as they complement my reformer Pilates practice. The more I practice the more I feel a part of the Spanda family, where there is a focus on coming together as a community. I highly recommend visiting Spanda, if you are a Fremantle local, or if you are a traveller passing through. Come for the yoga and stay for the conversations, connections and community feel.
