Need volunteer to take care of the place that really peaceful. Moreover, if you curious about meditation, you can come here on weekends to study about how to do the meditation in Buddhist ways. Anyway, no need to believe in Buddhism, only respect to us will be lovely.

Old Thai woman helping with the dishwashing at the temple was unbelievably rude. I usually enjoy going to the temple, whether in Thailand or here in Australia, because I go there to make merit and find peace of mind. Instead, I left feeling upset and disappointed. After the meal, everyone was returning their plates and cutlery. I did not know there was a collection station, so I handed her my plate and could not figure out where to put the cutlery. I accidentally placed it on the plate, and in a very rude tone she said to me in Thai, "Look around and see where everyone else is putting it." (มองไปรอบๆด้วยว่าเขาวางกันตรงไหน) As someone from the younger generation, I have to say that people like her are one of the reasons many young people are losing interest in going to the temple. It is not Buddhism that pushes us away. It is the rude behaviour and unkind attitudes of some of the people there. I go to the temple with a happy and sincere heart. I want to make merit with a pure mind and leave feeling peaceful. Instead, she made me feel embarrassed, judged, and unwelcome. I have never gone to a temple expecting free food or free services. Every time I go, I choose to make merit because I genuinely want to. I happily donate money and make offerings to support the temple. I do not expect anything in return except basic kindness and respect. After meeting an old Thai woman like her, I honestly would not recommend this experience to my younger friends or people of my generation. I would rather wait until I return to Thailand to make merit than deal with this kind of atmosphere. A temple should be a place where people feel welcomed and inspired to come back. Sadly, people like her do the opposite. They make visitors feel unwelcome and drive the younger generation away from the temple. If someone chooses to volunteer and help at a temple, they should do it with compassion and kindness. If they cannot, then they should not be doing it at all.

Perth is blessed to have this Theravada Buddhist organisation across their community, and the world is privileged to have access via their popular YouTube and podcast channels. A long-established Sangha with a monastery and separate nunnery in rural settings on the outskirts of the Metropolitan Area, and a Dhamma centre centrally located for the lay community.

A place for learning inner peace and joy, this venue has a room where classes on meditation, suttas and life lessons are taught, many of which are recorded on video and posted online. There's also a hall where people gather to offer food and requisites to the monks, and share in the meal which starts and finishes just before noon. The monks are very happy and positive, and it brushes off on the people who come to visit. Check the website for their timetable and what's on and available at this location. There's a small car park, we well as street parking available.
