How Oria chooses these massage & bodywork places
2 of the 7 massage & bodywork listings in the directory match this view. The count is live, and the order puts specialists first — paid placement never moves anyone up it.
As of October 2026, 2 of the 7 Massage & Bodywork listings on Oria Haven are in this view (Margaret River) — counted live from the directory.
1 of these specialise in massage & bodywork — it is their main focus. The other 1 list it among other things they offer.
Every listing is hand-checked by Oria Haven. Figures updated 9 October 2026.
Most relevant means practices that specialise in this first, then the ones with the most reviews to go on. A listing that publishes its price, describes itself and names its services gets a small nudge, never more than a quarter of a star, because you can decide on it without ringing. Paid placements are shown once, in their own band, and never move anyone up the list.
The guide
Before you go: Remedial massage in the Margaret River region
Remedial massage is the massage your health fund still recognises — which is the practical difference between it and a relaxation massage booked under the same roof. The therapist holds a diploma rather than a certificate, works to what you asked for at the start rather than to a set routine, and the session tends to be firmer and more local than a flowing full-body treatment. The two can happen on the same table in the same hour; the name tells you about the training behind the hands and whether a receipt is worth keeping.
Two things to check before you book rather than after: whether the therapist holds a provider number your fund recognises, and — in a clinic with several rooms — whether the therapist you booked is the therapist you will actually get. Extras are priced separately almost everywhere, so a session that starts as massage and ends with needles costs more than the number on the website.
Your first visit
What to expect at your first remedial massage session
Remedial massage is a treatment appointment rather than an hour off. It starts with questions and often ends with homework.
- Session length 30–60 min
From arrival to heading home
-
Before your visit
- Ten minutes early for the first one. There is a longer intake form than for a relaxation massage, and it asks about medication and past injuries.
- Comfortable clothes you can move in — you may be asked to do a few movements before you get on the table.
-
During the session
- An assessment first: some questions, then watching how you move, stand or turn.
- The therapist explains what they think is going on and what they plan to work on.
- Treatment on the table, usually firmer than a relaxation massage and focused on one or two areas rather than the whole body.
- It can be uncomfortable in places. Uncomfortable and sharp are different things — say so and they will ease off.
- Often a stretch or two to do at home, and a view on whether you need to come back.
A little preparation

What to bring Your health fund card if you are claiming on the spot, and the name of anything you are being treated for elsewhere.
