A recovery room in the middle of town with both saunas — traditional Finnish and infrared — alongside a hot plunge and an ice bath. Massage is booked separately. Being on Bussell Highway makes it the one you can walk to rather than drive to.
An Ayurvedic day spa on seven acres of bushland between Dunsborough and Yallingup, with a 25-metre pool, a steam room and private yoga. The Ayurvedic side is the point — this is not a generic treatment menu with an Indian name on it.
A day spa and boutique retreat on Caves Road, set across bushland, vineyard and farmland between Yallingup and Dunsborough. You can book the spa on its own or stay, which is what most people down for a weekend end up doing.
A treatment room in the middle of Margaret River offering massage and facials, with a private infrared sauna that can be booked alongside a treatment or on its own. Closer to a small day spa than a clinic.
How Oria chooses these spa & recovery places
5 of the 16 spa & recovery listings in the directory match this view. The count is live, and the order puts specialists first — paid placement never moves anyone up it.
As of October 2026, 5 of the 16 Spa & Recovery listings on Oria Haven are in this view (Margaret River) — counted live from the directory.
4 of these specialise in spa & recovery — it is their main focus. The other 1 list it among other things they offer.
Every listing is hand-checked by Oria Haven. Figures updated 8 October 2026.
Most relevant means practices that specialise in this first, then the ones with the most reviews to go on. A listing that publishes its price, describes itself and names its services gets a small nudge, never more than a quarter of a star, because you can decide on it without ringing. Paid placements are shown once, in their own band, and never move anyone up the list.
The guide
Before you go: spa & recovery in the Margaret River region
Recovery rooms sell time rather than treatments, and the price on the board is usually for the slot, not the thing you do in it.
The sessions differ more than the marketing suggests. A sauna is a long warm sit you can talk through; an ice bath is two or three minutes and you will not want to talk. Contrast therapy alternates the two and takes about an hour with the changing. Float tanks are an hour on your own in dark salt water, which some people find restful and others find far too quiet. Infrared saunas run cooler than traditional ones and feel less punishing, and sound baths belong here too — you lie down, someone plays bowls and gongs, and nothing is required of you.
On practicalities: most studios sell memberships that only make sense if you go weekly, and casual rates are the honest way to find out whether you will. Bring or hire a towel, allow twenty minutes on top of the session for changing and showering, and book contrast in the middle of the day if you would rather not drive home cold.

About the Reel
The Reel, from Australia’s South West, introduces the floating sauna at Pemberton Pool: two wood-fired sauna rooms on the water with big windows onto the karri forest, and the ritual its caption describes — warm up, step outside into the pool, and repeat.

It captures the setting and the whole hot–cold ritual — including the dive that deserves a word of caution.

Your first visit
What to expect at your first massage session
A massage appointment is one practitioner, one room, and a table. Nothing is asked of you except that you turn up and say where it hurts.
- Session length 45–90 min
- Group size Solo
- Experience needed None
From arrival to heading home
-
Before your visit
- Five to ten minutes early. The first appointment usually starts with a short written health history — what you do for work, injuries, anything you are being treated for.
- Whatever you arrived in. You undress in private once the therapist has left the room.
-
During the session
- A few minutes talking first: what you want from the hour, where the trouble is, how much pressure you like.
- The therapist leaves the room while you undress to your comfort and get under the towel.
- You are covered the whole time. Only the part being worked on is uncovered, and it is re-covered before they move on.
- They will check the pressure early and you can change it at any point. Saying it is too much is normal and expected.
- A minute or two to get up slowly at the end, and a glass of water on the way out.
A little preparation
-
What to bring Nothing. Towels and everything else are provided.

Practices can claim their listing for nothing and keep it accurate, photos included. Paid plans add booking links, offers and visitor stats. We never take a cut of bookings, and enquiries go straight to the practice.
