It will soon be 3 years since I started practicing at this shala. I’ve been practicing Ashtanga Yoga for about 11 years and have learned from many different teachers, but Sita is truly one of a kind. Her dedication and care for her students, her sharp observational skills, her ability to recognize each student’s movement patterns and physical habits, and her precise, thoughtful adjustments are exceptional. Beyond that, she has deep knowledge not only of anatomy, but also yoga philosophy, nutrition and so on. She is a teacher who has studied and embodied so much. She is also warm, friendly, and full of humor, which makes her very easy to talk to. Whenever I experience pain, discomfort, or notice changes in my body, she is the first person I consult. I am now experiencing the depth of her knowledge even more directly through the Advanced Teacher Training course I am currently taking. Although we have just completed Module 1, the content is already very extensive. It is highly valuable not only for teachers, but also for anyone who has questions about their own body or personal practice. I confidently recommend learning from Sita to beginners who want to start Ashtanga Yoga, and also to advanced practitioners—there is so much to learn from her.

How these ratings work
These bars are a guide, not a score of this business. Each starts from Oria Haven’s profile of Breathwork as a kind of session, then is adjusted by facts stored on this listing: its price band, its group size and whether it welcomes beginners.
Nobody has rated this particular venue in person, and reviews are not fed in. Where we have no fact about this listing behind a bar — for example how many people share the room — we leave that bar out rather than guess.
They describe the room — how quiet, how physical, how many people — never what a session is supposed to do for you.

From Google
I’ve been to many yoga studios over the years, but I truly wish I had found MBR much sooner. Teacher Sita genuinely cares about each student and has taken the time to understand my body and its needs. It has only been six months since I started practicing Ashtanga at MBR, but it has already become an essential part of my routine. I hope to continue practicing Ashtanga here for the rest of my life!
I’ve been practicing with Sita for slightly over two years now and I can’t really imagine myself/ my life without having discovered Ashtanga with her at this point. She has really helped me deepen my understanding and perception of my body; trusting in her support and guidance allows me to keep going further in my practice, in a way that I wouldn’t dare to alone. In addition to sita’s guidance and support, I’m also just really grateful for the practice of ashtanga itself and how much it feels like home.

Why we picked it
The thing most people are missing when they say they cannot sit still is a cushion of the right height. A crescent shape gives the thighs somewhere to go, and buckwheat can be added or taken out until it is yours. It is the first thing we would put in a meditation corner.

Why we picked it
Restorative yoga is mostly the art of being held up by the right prop, and a bolster is the prop. Hugger Mugger's has been the studio standard for decades because the core does not go soft. Under the knees, along the spine, or across the lap for a long sit.

Why we picked it
The one meditation book we would hand to someone who has never sat down to meditate. The chapters are two or three pages each, secular in tone, and you can open it anywhere. Thirty years on it is still the plainest introduction there is.
