Whether you're after some exercise, a leisurely stroll, birdsong or listening to frogs, this place is for you. I was most impressed to see a wheelchair accessible path placed right round the dam, so everyone, regardless of their ability can enjoy this beautiful piece of nature. It was lovely to hear so many frogs in conversation with one another and also to catch the male Musk Duck performing his courtship ritual. Sadly, the weather was full and grey when I visited so the photos of the duck etc aren't as colourful as they would have been on a calm and sunny day. There are heaps of picnic tables around and also a large undercover BBQ area. The only thing that wasn't very impressive were the public toilets. The path around the dam can be accessed from a few different areas. I counted three birdhides and there are quite a few benches along the track to rest and take in the sites and sounds of the area.

How these ratings work
These bars are a guide, not a score of this business. Each starts from Oria Haven’s profile of Guided nature & hiking as a kind of session, then is adjusted by facts stored on this listing: its price band, its group size and whether it welcomes beginners.
Nobody has rated this particular venue in person, and reviews are not fed in. Where we have no fact about this listing behind a bar — for example how many people share the room — we leave that bar out rather than guess.
They describe the room — how quiet, how physical, how many people — never what a session is supposed to do for you.

Fantastic walk around the dam with the dogs. We did this on 3 different days. Had a swim on one day and it was way warmer than the Pemberton pool. Definitely add this to your itinerary when in the area.
Simply beautiful. Quiet and serene . Breathtaking and lots of parking space. Simply nature showing off

IllustrationA guided journal with short daily prompts: a few lines in the morning, a few at night. Undated, so a missed day costs nothing.
Makes a giftGoes well with Mindfulness coaching
Why we picked it
A journal only works if it is short enough to keep doing. This one asks for five minutes and three lines, which is the amount most people will actually write, and undated pages mean no guilt about the gaps. A good gift because nobody buys it for themselves.
IllustrationJames Nestor's account of how we breathe and how we used to, drawing on breathing traditions, pulmonology and his own experiments. Paperback edition.
Good for beginnersGoes well with Breathwork
Why we picked it
If a breathwork class has left you curious about why any of it works, this is the book to read next. It is a reporter's book rather than a manual, which is why it is so readable, and it sends most people back to class with better questions.
