best beach ever. went with my best friend. will never regret diving over the rock pool. the beach is nice and clear, but it’s best you go with water shoes over the rock pool, as the rocks are prickly to your skin. saw some bunnies as well :)

A reef-sheltered lagoon at the northern end of Trigg, flat enough that the name is fair.

What it’s like
The reef holds the swell off, which makes it the calm-water option on a coast that mostly is not, and the water is clearest before the wind arrives.
you want to turn up without booking anything, and you would rather not pay for a first try.

How these ratings work
These bars are a guide, not a score of this business. Each starts from Oria Haven’s profile of Guided nature & hiking as a kind of session, then is adjusted by facts stored on this listing: its price band, its group size and whether it welcomes beginners.
Nobody has rated this particular venue in person, and reviews are not fed in. Where we have no fact about this listing behind a bar — for example how many people share the room — we leave that bar out rather than guess.
They describe the room — how quiet, how physical, how many people — never what a session is supposed to do for you.

Worse beach I’ve ever seen. The sand area is tiny because the natural rock everywhere is exposed so everyone is crammed onto a small section of sand. Then if you plan to navigate your way into the water, you’re trying to find a spot through craggy rock and when you’re at the water have to find a bit where no weed and sea grass chokes the shore. Why are there so many people here! There are other nicer beaches. To balance my point and to be fair, the sea water is crystal, so snorkelling is quite good.
Beautiful white sandy beach. You need to watch out for the rocky reef when entering the water but the there’s nice clear sandy patches. There’s a smallish carpark and street parking but it can be hard to find a spot on weekends. The water can get choppy when the Freo Doctor (daily S-west wind) comes in but when calm the sandy patches a quite shallow and ideal for kids.

IllustrationA guided journal with short daily prompts: a few lines in the morning, a few at night. Undated, so a missed day costs nothing.
Makes a giftGoes well with Mindfulness coaching
Why we picked it
A journal only works if it is short enough to keep doing. This one asks for five minutes and three lines, which is the amount most people will actually write, and undated pages mean no guilt about the gaps. A good gift because nobody buys it for themselves.
IllustrationJames Nestor's account of how we breathe and how we used to, drawing on breathing traditions, pulmonology and his own experiments. Paperback edition.
Good for beginnersGoes well with Breathwork
Why we picked it
If a breathwork class has left you curious about why any of it works, this is the book to read next. It is a reporter's book rather than a manual, which is why it is so readable, and it sends most people back to class with better questions.
