The Shamanic Breathwork training with Claire has been a profound inner healing journey and a deeply personal one. Through experiencing the different conscious breathing techniques, I have discovered a deep sense of embodiment that has been emotionally, physically, and energetically healing. It has brought a feeling of inner peace and deep repair to my nervous system. As I learned to gently and compassionately acknowledge the old stories my body had carried for so long, layers of trauma and stress were finally able to soften and release. With Claire's gentle guidance, this unfolding was supported not only through Breathwork but also through therapy. As the stories unravelled with greater compassion and softness, suppressed emotions that had been waiting patiently beneath the surface were finally able to be felt. I found myself meeting the raw depth of my sadness and grief following the loss of my beautiful son eight years ago. There it was... and for the first time, I felt truly safe enough to allow it to be fully felt, honoured, and released. A deep sense of peace has come through accepting that this sadness will always be a part of me. It comes and goes like the ocean in gentle waves. I can now recognise the difference between when my sadness feels heavy and depressed, and when it feels held, loved, and nurtured. With Claire's gentle guidance I have come to understand the importance of having supportive practices in place that help me feel physically and emotionally safe, grounded, and contained as I continue learning to hold myself with unconditional love and compassion. Understanding that I can only meet others as deeply as I meet myself. This is the safe and sacred space I now hope to share with others, holding them gently as they discover the love, courage, and capacity to hold themselves. The altered states of consciousness, the softness of deep listening, and exploring the dreaming worlds through the spirit of the breath have opened me to something eternal, timeless, and truly magical and transpersonal. Finally connecting with and feeling my own heart has been one of the most powerful gifts of this journey. It has given me a newfound sense of freedom, one that I know, in time, will continue to lead me towards joy. With all the love in my heart, thank you, Claire, for your incredible teachings, your gentle guidance, your mystical spirit and for the remembrance. I feel so deeply honoured that our paths have crossed. 🙏🩵🔥 My beautiful son Troy loves you too. ✨️

How these ratings work
These bars are a guide, not a score of this business. Each starts from Oria Haven’s profile of Breathwork as a kind of session, then is adjusted by facts stored on this listing: its price band, its group size and whether it welcomes beginners.
Nobody has rated this particular venue in person, and reviews are not fed in. Where we have no fact about this listing behind a bar — for example how many people share the room — we leave that bar out rather than guess.
They describe the room — how quiet, how physical, how many people — never what a session is supposed to do for you.

IllustrationA crescent zafu filled with buckwheat hulls, with a washable cotton cover and a carry handle. Sits you a little higher than the floor so the knees drop and the back stays upright.

Why we picked it
The thing most people are missing when they say they cannot sit still is a cushion of the right height. A crescent shape gives the thighs somewhere to go, and buckwheat can be added or taken out until it is yours. It is the first thing we would put in a meditation corner.

Why we picked it
Restorative yoga is mostly the art of being held up by the right prop, and a bolster is the prop. Hugger Mugger's has been the studio standard for decades because the core does not go soft. Under the knees, along the spine, or across the lap for a long sit.
IllustrationJon Kabat-Zinn's short chapters on mindfulness in everyday life, from the founder of mindfulness-based stress reduction. Paperback edition.

Why we picked it
The one meditation book we would hand to someone who has never sat down to meditate. The chapters are two or three pages each, secular in tone, and you can open it anywhere. Thirty years on it is still the plainest introduction there is.
