About

A Bulwer Street practice running its Pilates on the clinic side of the line: a one-to-one session with a physiotherapist comes before any class, and classes are then capped at three people so nobody is working unwatched. Reformer, mat and a mums-and-bubs class run on the same timetable. Classes are $70, or $65 each in a six-class pack.

I have been going to this clinic for over 4 years, and I can easily recommend it to anyone, whether you are an athlete or a regular middle-aged person like myself. I first came in with a shoulder injury, hoping to avoid surgery. My physio put me on a custom rehabilitation clinical Pilates program, which I stuck with for 3.5 years. During that time, any new aches or pains were quickly addressed and added to my routine ( ps no surgery was required). For the last 6 months, I have transitioned to strength and conditioning classes with Exercise Physiologist Meg. She tailors the small group sessions to fit around any problem areas I have while helping me maintain muscle strength and balance. Every single staff member I have met over the years—from the physiotherapists and exercise physiologists to the admin team—has been professional, caring, and knowledgeable.

I have been attending WA SportsMed since early 2024 for a range of soccer-related injuries, including bone bruising and, more recently, an ACL and meniscus rupture in March 2026. Across both injuries, I have consistently received expert treatment, clear guidance, and support with specialist referrals. Most importantly, during my recent ACL injury, the team has played a huge role in helping me stay both physically and mentally strong throughout what is a very challenging time. A special mention to Leon Vogels and Jacob Millar, who have been exceptional. They guided me through a structured and progressive rehabilitation programme that enabled me to successfully achieve my pre-surgery milestones in range of motion, stability, and strength. What really sets WA SportsMed apart is their wrap-around care approach. I’ve also participated in Strength & Conditioning sessions with Megan Fraser, which have allowed me to continue my rehab in a safe, structured environment while building strength across my whole body. In addition, returning to Reformer Pilates with Isabella Blitz has been seamlessly managed through a personalised plan, ensuring I could reintegrate safely and effectively. I also received valuable nutritional guidance from Eliza Kelly, which has helped prepare me both physically and mentally for surgery and recovery. From the moment I sustained my ACL injury, I have felt completely supported and confident that I am in the best possible hands. The team consistently goes above and beyond, and I genuinely could not recommend WA SportsMed more highly.

I was recommended to see Leon and Nina for a nagging back issue that kept me out of professional competition for months. I could not be happier with their diligence, wealth of knowledge and expertise. They were both very skilled at the hands-on therapy but also helped me return to play in a systematic and controlled manner. Their constant assessment and programming ensured I had a smooth transition back to play. They were always on the lookout for ways to help me address weaknesses or deficits. They had a range of great ideas and I’ve benefitted a ton and learned a lot from the both of them. I would highly recommend the practice, you won’t be disappointed. They will definitely go the extra mile to figure out how to help you, hear your concerns and feedback and be thorough.

If you’re looking for a physiotherapist who is knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely committed to helping you achieve the best possible outcome, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Leon and the team at WA SportsMed. Leon has been genuinely invested in helping me achieve my goals, and thanks to his guidance, I’ve made great progress and have felt confident throughout my rehabilitation.

Had Marina treat me for a longstanding shoulder injury She has provided a really comprehensive program For my rehabilitation, adapting the program to my busy schedule and exercise program. At the end she provided me with a simple one pager i could take a picture and keep it with me for attending my gym. She made the appointment a great experience with her friendly and funny style!
