Best float tanks in Perth

Your first float is easier to choose when you know what you are booking: an enclosed pod, a larger cabin or an open pool; how long you are actually in the water; and how long the whole appointment takes once showering before and after is added. This guide compares Perth float centres on those practical details and the prices they publish. Every price was checked on the centre's own site or booking page in October 2026.

How we chose

What we considered

We compared water-based floating only — pods, cabins and an open pool — on what you book: the kind of tank, the time in the water against the time in the room, the casual price, any first-float offer, what is provided, and whether two people can float together. Every price was checked on the centre's own site or booking page in October 2026; first-float offers, packs and memberships are labelled as such and never stand in for a casual price. Two centres in the directory, in Willetton and Kelmscott, are left out because their websites were down and their float services could not be confirmed. Dry cocoon pods that use heat rather than water are not part of this comparison. Several centres make health claims about floating; this guide does not repeat them.

Best Of guides are editorial. No practice paid to appear here; paid placements on Oria Haven are always labelled Featured.

Common questions

Before you go

Among the centres here, a casual hour costs $70 at Rhema Wellness Studio, $85 at Salt Float Studio and Swan Valley Retreat, $86 at The Life Spring and $89 at Beyond Rest, Float Lab and Clear Mind. First-float offers bring it lower — Beyond Rest's three floats for $177 work out at $59 each — and packs and memberships go lower again. Prices checked October 2026.

A pod is an enclosed tank with a lid, and at Salt Float Studio and Clear Mind you can leave the lid open. The Life Spring's cabins are larger, with a door rather than a lid, which can also stay open. Clear Mind's Inglewood room has an open float pool with no lid or enclosure at all. If closed spaces worry you, the open pool or a cabin with the door open is the gentler start.

Allow about an hour and a half. The float itself is usually an hour, and Beyond Rest and Clear Mind both say to allow 90 minutes in all for showering before and after. Most centres ask first-timers to arrive ten to fifteen minutes early.

Only where the space is shared: The Life Spring lets two people share a cabin, at $129 for an hour, and Clear Mind's open pool at Inglewood takes a couple for $139. Elsewhere you book separate tanks at the same time — Float Lab charges $160 for two and Salt Float Studio $65 each — and Swan Valley Retreat's single pod means one after the other.

Each centre publishes its own guidance, and it differs. Common items are a fresh tattoo, recently coloured hair, open wounds, epilepsy and early pregnancy: Beyond Rest asks you to wait five days after a tattoo and two after hair dye, and Clear Mind seven days after colouring, with pregnancy from 13 weeks. Read the centre's own list before booking, and ask your doctor if you have a medical condition.

WA’s first floating sauna, on Pemberton Pool

Reel by Australia’s South West @australias_southwest · South West, Western Australia

Reel by Australia’s South West, the regional tourism account, posted 12 August 2026 with @floatingsauna_pembertonpool.

It captures the setting and the whole hot–cold ritual — including the dive that deserves a word of caution.
