Going to the Monday night drop in class is easily one of the highlights of my week. These classes have expanded my own mind and I really believe I hold more compassion for myself and others because of it. The teachings are relatable, and I don’t think anyone should be afraid of the Buddhism aspect - the teacher really encourages everyone to think for themselves, to take what is beneficial, to ask questions, or raise skepticism. This beautiful building and the people in it have become a really special and safe space for me :)

How these ratings work
These bars are a guide, not a score of this business. Each starts from Oria Haven’s profile of Meditation as a kind of session, then is adjusted by facts stored on this listing: its price band, its group size and whether it welcomes beginners.
Nobody has rated this particular venue in person, and reviews are not fed in. Where we have no fact about this listing behind a bar — for example how many people share the room — we leave that bar out rather than guess.
They describe the room — how quiet, how physical, how many people — never what a session is supposed to do for you.

Kadampa Meditation Centre Perth has changed my life for the better. I cannot reccomend it enough to anyone from any reach of life. It offers the easiest way to digest Buddhist Studies I have found in the West. The community are some of the loveliest people you will ever meet and you will be welcomed with open arms. Much love to anyone who reads this review ❤️
I attended the half day "Meditations for a clear mind" course on Saturday 14th July. It was undoubtedly one of the best things I have ever done for myself. So relaxing and nourishing in a non threatening, beautiful environment. Everyone was lovely. Our teacher Tara (an ordained nun) was sweet, gentle and wise. If you are contemplating visiting this centre don't delay - you won't be disappointed!

IllustrationA crescent zafu filled with buckwheat hulls, with a washable cotton cover and a carry handle. Sits you a little higher than the floor so the knees drop and the back stays upright.

Why we picked it
The thing most people are missing when they say they cannot sit still is a cushion of the right height. A crescent shape gives the thighs somewhere to go, and buckwheat can be added or taken out until it is yours. It is the first thing we would put in a meditation corner.

Everyday useGoes well with Meditation classes · Yoga
Why we picked it
Restorative yoga is mostly the art of being held up by the right prop, and a bolster is the prop. Hugger Mugger's has been the studio standard for decades because the core does not go soft. Under the knees, along the spine, or across the lap for a long sit.

Why we picked it
The one meditation book we would hand to someone who has never sat down to meditate. The chapters are two or three pages each, secular in tone, and you can open it anywhere. Thirty years on it is still the plainest introduction there is.
