Attended an Iftar by Islamic Relief Australia at The RISE last Saturday. Easy to find location with good parking. The area is clean and the hall is great, with nice lighting and a good audio setup. Comfortable venue for community events.

I’ve updated my rating because they listened and hired a cleaner to organize the gym room, and it now looks clean. For hygiene reasons, I hope the cleaning will continue to be consistent. Thank you for listening although there was no reply to my message here, the response came through action. “Extremely dirty. The fitness classroom haven’t been clean for years. We understand that a gym is not meant to have perfectly fresh air, but it is reasonable to expect a clean environment. Even the fans appear to need proper cleaning. The carpet has never been vacuumed, and they offer yoga classes there. Even if we bring our own mats, it still feels unhygienic. The curtains in that room also smell terrible”.
A wonderful place to meet people, clean friendly environment, helpful staff and great fitness classes. Very happy that i moved to the area.

IllustrationA short, firm foam roller in moulded polypropylene. Small enough to keep beside the mat or take to class.
Everyday useGoes well with Sleep & Recovery · Fitness & Movement
Why we picked it
A roller does not need to be clever. It needs to be firm enough to hold its shape and short enough that you actually use it. This is the plain, inexpensive one, and the 30cm length is the right size for calves, thighs and the upper back without taking over the room.

A two-inch textured rubber ball from TriggerPoint, sized to work underfoot.
Goes well with Massage & Bodywork · Sleep & Recovery · Fitness & Movement
Why we picked it
Two inches is the size that fits the arch of a foot, which is what separates it from a plain lacrosse ball. The texture grips the floor instead of skidding away. The cheapest way into self-massage tools and the one most likely to get used.

A yoga mat printed with alignment lines for placing hands and feet.
Goes well with Yoga
Why we picked it
The lines are the whole point. They give you something to check against when you cannot see your own posture and there is no teacher watching, which makes this a mat for practising alone at home rather than in a studio.
