How these ratings work

These bars are a guide, not a score of this business. Each starts from Oria Haven’s profile of Sound bath as a kind of session, then is adjusted by facts stored on this listing: its price band, its group size and whether it welcomes beginners.

Nobody has rated this particular venue in person, and reviews are not fed in. Where we have no fact about this listing behind a bar — for example how many people share the room — we leave that bar out rather than guess.

They describe the room — how quiet, how physical, how many people — never what a session is supposed to do for you.

I was going to work out today, but I haven’t even started because one of the staff members was so rude when approaching me earlier. She was the one rostered today inside the gym 06/09 Sunday. As a new member who is a bit shy, I can't believe I was treated this way. This is supposed to be a safe, welcoming space that supports me in improving my health and well-being.. They say first impressions matter, I’m starting to think to switch to a different gym.

Generally friendly staff but the gym and car park is always packed. Whilst they offer a defence discount they still only allow 60 days paused a year which is nothing for service members when away. They also wouldn’t allow extra days when they closed for renovations and the gym wasn’t able to be used. Customer service has been constantly lacking by front desk but gym staff are better. Have since started supporting Revo fitness around the corner and they are a breath of fresh air - their app shows how many patrons inside so you can avoid busy times, heaps of equipment and they heard my story and have me a whole month for free.

great day at the Bassa inter school swimming carnival but was a little dissappointed there was no food or coffee available at the venue maybe they could hire a van for those days.

Foam rollersAmazon Basics High-Density Foam Roller, 30cmAmazon Basics

A short, firm foam roller in moulded polypropylene. Small enough to keep beside the mat or take to class.

Everyday use

Goes well with Sleep & Recovery Fitness & Movement

Why we picked it

A roller does not need to be clever. It needs to be firm enough to hold its shape and short enough that you actually use it. This is the plain, inexpensive one, and the 30cm length is the right size for calves, thighs and the upper back without taking over the room.

Massage Ball product photograph
Massage ballsMassage BallTRIGGERPOINT

A two-inch textured rubber ball from TriggerPoint, sized to work underfoot.

Goes well with Massage & Bodywork Sleep & Recovery Fitness & Movement

Why we picked it

Two inches is the size that fits the arch of a foot, which is what separates it from a plain lacrosse ball. The texture grips the floor instead of skidding away. The cheapest way into self-massage tools and the one most likely to get used.

Yoga Mat product photograph
Yoga matsYoga MatHERUI

A yoga mat printed with alignment lines for placing hands and feet.

Goes well with Yoga

Why we picked it

The lines are the whole point. They give you something to check against when you cannot see your own posture and there is no teacher watching, which makes this a mat for practising alone at home rather than in a studio.
