Theva Indrasenan has run conscious dance in Perth since 2010 — Open Floor trained, with sessions from $25 Friday-night dances to weekend intensives and dawn 'Morning Medicine' beach dances. Venues cluster around Fremantle: North Fremantle Community Hall, Hilton PCYC, Bibra Lake and South Beach. No steps to learn; the floor is the practice.
Graeme Salvetti has facilitated breathwork for more than sixteen years and holds a degree in psychotherapy and counselling. Weekly group sessions run on Sunday afternoons in South Fremantle, online group journeys most Thursday evenings, and two-hour private sessions for individuals or couples by arrangement, alongside men's groups, embodiment coaching and bespoke sessions for organisations. Published prices: $80 for the Sunday group, $65 online, $180 private.
A not-for-profit centre teaching modern Buddhist meditation, with its home in East Fremantle and weekly drop-in classes across the metro — Joondalup, Kingsley, Bayswater, Baldivis and free lunchtime sessions at the WA Museum. Drop-ins are $15, need no booking, and assume no background whatsoever.
Belinda guides forest bathing (shinrin-yoku) walks in bushland and gardens within about an hour of the Perth CBD, and also works in the South West. Walks are deliberately slow — roughly 2km over two to three hours, with long pauses for stillness and sensory exercises rather than distance covered. Nature journaling, workshops and workplace sessions are also offered.
Free meditation classes and workshops across Perth — Inglewood, Mount Claremont and Belmont among the venues — run continuously as a community service in the Sri Chinmoy tradition, with the Perth centre re-established in 1995. Classes are pitched at beginners, working from quietening the mind toward heart-centred meditation. Always free of charge.
Meg facilitates guided breathing practices across Perth studios — a regular Monday evening group class at Centre Space, hour-long private one-to-ones working through different breathing patterns and techniques, plus corporate workshops and retreats.
Somatic breathwork out of Fremantle in every format the practice comes in — group circles, private sessions, workshops and retreats — with the somatic emphasis on letting the body lead rather than the technique.

How mind & mental wellbeing is taught in Perth
Three quite different things share this shelf, and timetables rarely say which one you are booking.
Meditation classes are usually guided sittings — someone talks, you sit, it lasts half an hour to an hour. Mindfulness is more often taught as a course over six or eight weeks with the same group each time, and the practice is homework between sessions rather than the session itself. Breathwork is the physically demanding one: sustained patterned breathing that can leave your hands tingling and your emotions closer to the surface than you expected. Counselling and coaching are one-to-one and booked like an appointment.
On practicalities: several Perth sittings are free or by donation, and those tend to be the volunteer-run ones rather than the studios. Courses ask you to commit to the whole run and usually cost less per session than dropping in. Breathwork facilitators generally ask about pregnancy, heart conditions and epilepsy before a first session, so expect that question and answer it honestly.
Related: meditation classes, mindfulness coaching, breathwork, counselling, and yoga and movement.

Running since 2005 under founders with research doctorates and a thoughtful, non-performative approach, this Colin Street studio teaches Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin and pregnancy yoga in person and online.
