A training school running for over twenty years with more than four thousand students through its doors, teaching Reiki 1 and 2 and its own Ashati and Alsemia energy-healing systems from city venues on Mounts Bay Road and Barrack Street. The full practitioner program is $1,540 paid up front or about $266 per workshop on a plan, alongside healing sessions and intuitive development training.
Ninety-minute breathwork sessions from Bayswater, in person or online — longer than a typical class, with room for the slow build, the peak and a proper wind-down in a single sitting.
Charley has taught for over two decades from shared studio spaces in Applecross, Bateman and Hilton, with a practice built deliberately for stiff mornings and old injuries rather than for people who already bend easily. Gentle therapeutic yoga, strength work, mindfulness and meditation, plus private yoga-therapy sessions, seniors classes and online options. Registered as a Yoga Therapist with both Yoga Australia and IAYT, and a Level 3 teacher.
Richard and Helena Boyd have run Energetics Institute from a Federation home in Inglewood for more than twenty years. Breathwork sits alongside their somatic psychotherapy practice — private sessions in the rooms or online, and group breathwork sessions that fold in sound. Both are professional members of the Australian Breathwork Association. Open weekdays to 7pm and Saturday mornings.
Graeme Salvetti has facilitated breathwork for more than sixteen years and holds a degree in psychotherapy and counselling. Weekly group sessions run on Sunday afternoons in South Fremantle, online group journeys most Thursday evenings, and two-hour private sessions for individuals or couples by arrangement, alongside men's groups, embodiment coaching and bespoke sessions for organisations. Published prices: $80 for the Sunday group, $65 online, $180 private.
Gina Knight coaches on menopause and on low-carb and ketogenic eating, working from values and motivation rather than a prescribed plan. She is a professional member of the Health Coaches Australia and New Zealand Association and holds PreKure certification. Sessions are booked online and start with a free discovery call.
Ruth Balsiger coaches from an Ayurvedic starting point, working through food, routine and the seasons rather than a fixed plan. Sessions cover gut health, hormonal balance, mindful eating and nervous-system support, and clients get messaging access between appointments. Mostly online with some in-person work around Perth. She also publishes a podcast and a recipe book, and the site carries a dosha quiz as a way in.
Life in Flow is the breathwork arm of Breathe Counselling, a Perth counselling practice with rooms across the city. Joanna Gwynn, the practice's co-director and an internationally accredited breathwork practitioner with trauma-informed and somatic training, runs individual sessions in person and online and small group sessions, offered at the Perth, Rockingham and Mandurah clinics. The sessions are built as a series of five, each with a different focus, and are gentle enough for children.
Mark Simpson works from Princess Road in Doubleview and over Zoom, with group breathwork most Tuesday evenings and some weekend afternoons, two-hour one-to-one journeys, and a shorter hour-long introductory session. His training is a year-long course recognised by the Australian Breathwork Association; he is also an 800-hour yoga teacher and a Reiki master, and runs programs for organisations. Prices are on the site: $80 for the hour, $160 for a two-hour private session.
Karen Haddon teaches the full eight-week MBSR program — weekly 2.5-hour classes plus a seven-hour retreat day — in person and online, alongside Mindful Self-Compassion, workplace and schools programs, and one-to-one coaching. The course runs $695 with payment plans and hardship rates offered without fuss, and a free fifteen-minute consult settles whether it's the right fit.
A dedicated meditation centre in Bicton running live guided classes morning to evening six days a week, in person and online, built around a simple seven-step method pitched at every age and experience level. Kids' classes run Tuesday evenings, membership includes unlimited daily classes, and a free one-on-one consultation starts things off.
Kristina Ritchie pairs Reiki I and II certification with diplomas in remedial massage, remedial therapies, herbal medicine, naturopathy and mind/body psychotherapy. Her Fremantle practice offers reiki at $120 an hour ($170 for ninety minutes), intuitive counselling and coaching from $120, and remote sessions by Zoom or phone.
Pranayama-based breathwork built around the traditional understanding of breath as life force: studio group classes, private one-to-one sessions at your home or chosen spot, and private group sessions for couples or friends. A guided audio library — The Breath Within — keeps the practice going between sessions.
Nutrition and lifestyle coaching from Sarah Hopkins, a CHEK holistic health coach at level three with a decade of clinical practice behind her. The work is weighted towards women's cycles and fertility — preconception, IVF preparation, endometriosis and hormonal patterns — with gut health and IBS alongside. Booking is through the site's own calendar.
Perth's first dedicated behavioural sleep medicine service: a team of sleep psychologists working with adults, teens and children in West Perth and Como, and by telehealth Australia-wide. The four-session Goodnight group program delivers CBT-I on Saturday mornings at $600 with Medicare rebates available, and individual sessions attract rebates under a mental health care plan with GP referral.
Annelise coaches movement one-on-one using the Anatomy in Motion approach — assessing how someone actually moves, then building take-home movement strategies and personal programming — with bodywork, breath training and pregnancy movement coaching alongside, plus on-demand classes online.
Tamara's long-running school across Claremont and Bibra Lake studios plus online: vinyasa and yin through to meditation, soundbath classes that settle into yoga nidra, restorative work, and courses for pregnancy, children and trauma-informed practice. Unlimited membership at $49 a week, a three-week unlimited intro for newcomers, and 150- and 350-hour teacher trainings for those going deeper.
Elaine MacLeod has run The Peace Practice since 2016, working in the Usui/Holy Fire and Karuna Reiki systems from her Mount Lawley studio. One-to-one reiki sessions run in person or at distance, alongside reiki training workshops, space clearing, and reiki-infused meditation mini-courses. Bookings are online; gift vouchers available.
Health coaching from Lou Carbone, certified through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in both general and hormone health coaching. Work is sold as programmes rather than single appointments — a six-month one-to-one course, a shorter starter programme and a group detox and nourishment round — with functional testing available inside them. Sessions run online or in person around Perth, and a free 15-minute call comes first.

How mind & mental wellbeing is taught in Perth
Three quite different things share this shelf, and timetables rarely say which one you are booking.
Meditation classes are usually guided sittings — someone talks, you sit, it lasts half an hour to an hour. Mindfulness is more often taught as a course over six or eight weeks with the same group each time, and the practice is homework between sessions rather than the session itself. Breathwork is the physically demanding one: sustained patterned breathing that can leave your hands tingling and your emotions closer to the surface than you expected. Counselling and coaching are one-to-one and booked like an appointment.
On practicalities: several Perth sittings are free or by donation, and those tend to be the volunteer-run ones rather than the studios. Courses ask you to commit to the whole run and usually cost less per session than dropping in. Breathwork facilitators generally ask about pregnancy, heart conditions and epilepsy before a first session, so expect that question and answer it honestly.
Related: meditation classes, mindfulness coaching, breathwork, counselling, and yoga and movement.
