How these ratings work

These bars are a guide, not a score of this business. Each starts from Oria Haven’s profile of Personal training as a kind of session, then is adjusted by facts stored on this listing: its price band, its group size and whether it welcomes beginners.

Nobody has rated this particular venue in person, and reviews are not fed in. Where we have no fact about this listing behind a bar — for example how many people share the room — we leave that bar out rather than guess.

They describe the room — how quiet, how physical, how many people — never what a session is supposed to do for you.

Competitive Boxing and Fitness is an outstanding gym with a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. The coaches are extremely experienced, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to helping members improve their skills and fitness. Whether you are a complete beginner or have prior boxing experience, the staff take the time to guide and support you, making sure everyone feels comfortable while still pushing you to reach your potential. The training sessions are well structured, challenging, and incredibly rewarding. The community at the gym is also fantastic—friendly, motivating, and respectful. It’s clear that the team has built a positive environment where people can train hard while enjoying the process. I would highly recommend Competitive Boxing and Fitness to anyone looking to learn boxing, improve their fitness, or be part of a great training community.

Was going nowhere training on my own at my regular gym. Since starting, haven't trained as hard since the old footy days and is exactly the sort of exercise I need. Feel great afterwards. The coaches are very good. They spend time showing you correct form and technique and when fatigued, encourage you to keep pushing through. Recommend.

A short, firm foam roller in moulded polypropylene. Small enough to keep beside the mat or take to class.

Everyday use

Goes well with Sleep & Recovery Fitness & Movement

Why we picked it

A roller does not need to be clever. It needs to be firm enough to hold its shape and short enough that you actually use it. This is the plain, inexpensive one, and the 30cm length is the right size for calves, thighs and the upper back without taking over the room.

A two-inch textured rubber ball from TriggerPoint, sized to work underfoot.

Goes well with Massage & Bodywork Sleep & Recovery Fitness & Movement

Why we picked it

Two inches is the size that fits the arch of a foot, which is what separates it from a plain lacrosse ball. The texture grips the floor instead of skidding away. The cheapest way into self-massage tools and the one most likely to get used.

Yoga Mat product photograph

A yoga mat printed with alignment lines for placing hands and feet.

Why we picked it

The lines are the whole point. They give you something to check against when you cannot see your own posture and there is no teacher watching, which makes this a mat for practising alone at home rather than in a studio.
