At Golden Hour, I believe the mother deserves to be cared for just as intentionally as the baby. As a Perth birth doula, I offer gentle, nurturing and non-judgemental support through pregnancy, birth and the early postpartum days, caring for families across Perth's southern suburbs. As a photographer, I capture the people, connection and little moments that make this season yours. Whether I'm beside you through birth or behind the camera, my hope is that you feel comfortable, cared for and completely yourself. Because while your baby matters deeply, so do you.

ATI Martial Arts runs its headquarters from an air-conditioned, matted centre on Beach Road, Malaga, with a cafe and viewing area. Adult classes cover Taekwondo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing and Boxing Fit, plus women's self-defence and private lessons. Children start from age three in Little Dragons, then move into kids Taekwondo and BJJ, with teen kickboxing and boxing from 12. Classes run 30 to 60 minutes, Monday to Saturday, and a free trial is offered.

The Dungeon Boxing is a boxing gym in a Camboon Road unit in Malaga, coaching in the Cuban school of boxing. One-hour adult classes run Monday to Saturday, with beginners, all-levels and women's sessions, and invite-only intermediate and advanced training. Juniors and youth aged 6 to 16 have their own classes. A casual adult class is $25, weekly passes start at $29 for two classes, and personal training is $100 a session by appointment.

A naturopathic clinic on Oban Road in City Beach working with women, men and couples from preconception through to parenthood, with four practitioners on the team. Consultations cover fertility and IVF support, hormone and thyroid health, perimenopause and menopause, gut health, and pregnancy and postpartum care. Appointments are in the rooms or by telehealth anywhere in Australia.

Jai Ram teaches pregnancy and postnatal yoga on South Street and very little else — a studio built around one stretch of life rather than a timetable that happens to include a prenatal slot. Courses run in ten-week cycles following school terms, with a six-week intensive inside them, and Mama Baba classes carry on afterwards with the baby in the room.

Kelly works across Perth as a birth doula, covering the planning beforehand, continuous support on the day and care afterwards, with a virtual option for families outside the metro or wanting help between visits. Birth mapping and pregnancy massage sit alongside the doula work. Bookings are open for March 2026, which is the usual lead time in this field.

Two studios south of the river — Entrance Road in Coogee and Hammond Road in Cockburn Central — with the broadest Pilates timetable in the area: barre, clinical, reformer, mat, trampoline reformer, pregnancy and post-natal classes, plus TRX and boxilates. Classes run mornings, evenings and weekends. A two-week beginners' trial is $59, and a fifteen-minute phone consult is free.

A Hobart Street studio that splits its Pilates by how closely you are watched rather than by how hard it is — clinical sessions cap at three, reformer classes at six, both fifty minutes. An assessment comes first either way. Women's health, pregnancy and postnatal physiotherapy run from the same rooms, and the studio states its clinical sessions are claimable through health funds.

Nutrition and lifestyle coaching from Sarah Hopkins, a CHEK holistic health coach at level three with a decade of clinical practice behind her. The work is weighted towards women's cycles and fertility — preconception, IVF preparation, endometriosis and hormonal patterns — with gut health and IBS alongside. Booking is through the site's own calendar.

Michelle Bishop coaches from a psychology and education background, with twenty-five years of it in Perth. Sessions run long — an hour and a half to two hours — and can be taken individually, as a pair or as a family. Ground covered includes parenting, mindfulness, breathwork, communication and the brain-body connection, and she also runs small retreats capped at six. Coaching happens at her place or somewhere the client chooses.
