Over 15km of bush trails and ten lookouts on the highest natural ground along this stretch of coast. The climb from the car park to the Reabold Hill platform is about 200 metres, unpaved in places, and turns to face the ocean at the top — which is the reason to time it for the last hour of light.

A 3km loop over limestone headland with small bays on either side and wartime gun emplacements still standing in the scrub. It faces west across Cockburn Sound, so the light does the work at the end of the day.
Groynes either side make a sheltered pocket of water, which is why it reads calmer than its neighbours on a breezy morning. Wide lawns, a surf club and a row of places to eat directly behind the sand.
Perth's best-known swimming beach, and the one most people mean when they say they went for a dip. Patrolled through summer, grassed terraces above the sand, and calmest early — the Fremantle Doctor gets up from the south-west most afternoons.
A flat sealed path north from the Cottesloe groyne with the water on your left the whole way, which is the point at sunset. About 3km one way to Swanbourne, and there is no hill on it.
A reef-sheltered lagoon at the northern end of Trigg, flat enough that the name is fair. The reef holds the swell off, which makes it the calm-water option on a coast that mostly is not, and the water is clearest before the wind arrives.
One of the oldest and largest bushwalking clubs in Western Australia, with a program of graded day walks most Sundays and Wednesdays plus multi-day hikes, base camps and navigation courses. Walks are both on-track and off-track, mostly within about an hour's drive of Perth, and the club is a HikeWest member.
Flat, clear water and noticeably fewer people than the beaches north of it, with the working harbour in view down the coast. The southern end is the quiet end.
How Oria chooses these nature & outdoor wellness places
8 of the 22 nature & outdoor wellness listings in the directory match this view. The count is live, and the order puts specialists first — paid placement never moves anyone up it.
As of October 2026, 8 of the 22 Nature & Outdoor Wellness listings on Oria Haven are in this view (Perth) — counted live from the directory.
Every listing is hand-checked by Oria Haven. Figures updated 8 October 2026.
Most relevant means practices that specialise in this first, then the ones with the most reviews to go on. A listing that publishes its price, describes itself and names its services gets a small nudge, never more than a quarter of a star, because you can decide on it without ringing. Paid placements are shown once, in their own band, and never move anyone up the list.
The guide
Before you go: nature & outdoor wellness in Perth
A good deal of this category is free. Bushwalking clubs and Heart Foundation walking groups run scheduled walks across the metro at no cost beyond turning up, and park-based tai chi and outdoor fitness groups sit at the cheap end of everything else in the directory.
Beyond the walking: forest bathing sessions that move slowly through bushland with a guide, surf and ocean programmes run off the northern and western beaches, and equine-assisted sessions on properties out past Oakford and Byford — those last ones are booked by appointment, not dropped into.
The scheduling constraint is the Perth summer. From December to March almost everything outdoors runs early morning or after five, and groups that walk the Hills shift their start times by the month. Winter is when the Bibbulmun-adjacent walks and the Hills trails come into their own. Check the weather rather than the calendar, and bring more water than looks necessary.
Our guide covers where to sit outdoors, season by season. Related: hiking and bushwalking, eco therapy, retreats and day escapes.

About the Reel
The Reel, from Australia’s South West, introduces the floating sauna at Pemberton Pool: two wood-fired sauna rooms on the water with big windows onto the karri forest, and the ritual its caption describes — warm up, step outside into the pool, and repeat.

It captures the setting and the whole hot–cold ritual — including the dive that deserves a word of caution.
