I've feel like I've tried every gym within a 20 minute drive of my home in Coogee and, in my opinion, Control Fitness is the one gym that offers it all. As well as the gym itself, I can do a mix of cardio and sculpt reformer pilates, circuit classes, a mat pilates class and my membership currently includes a few infrared sauna sessions a week which are amazing. The vibe is super chill, very friendly and not at all intimidating.

How these ratings work
These bars are a guide, not a score of this business. Each starts from Oria Haven’s profile of Pilates as a kind of session, then is adjusted by facts stored on this listing: its price band, its group size and whether it welcomes beginners.
Nobody has rated this particular venue in person, and reviews are not fed in. Where we have no fact about this listing behind a bar — for example how many people share the room — we leave that bar out rather than guess.
They describe the room — how quiet, how physical, how many people — never what a session is supposed to do for you.

Really enjoying Pilates Fit Coogee so far. The vibe is super welcoming and the instructors are great at what they do. You feel supported but still get a solid workout in every class. Definitely noticed improvements already.
Such a warm and encouraging studio with really supportive instructors. As a tired mum, this has been exactly what I needed - time to move, reset and feel strong again. So grateful for it all.

IllustrationA short, firm foam roller in moulded polypropylene. Small enough to keep beside the mat or take to class.
Everyday useGoes well with Sleep & Recovery · Fitness & Movement
Why we picked it
A roller does not need to be clever. It needs to be firm enough to hold its shape and short enough that you actually use it. This is the plain, inexpensive one, and the 30cm length is the right size for calves, thighs and the upper back without taking over the room.

A two-inch textured rubber ball from TriggerPoint, sized to work underfoot.
Goes well with Massage & Bodywork · Sleep & Recovery · Fitness & Movement
Why we picked it
Two inches is the size that fits the arch of a foot, which is what separates it from a plain lacrosse ball. The texture grips the floor instead of skidding away. The cheapest way into self-massage tools and the one most likely to get used.

A yoga mat printed with alignment lines for placing hands and feet.
Goes well with Yoga
Why we picked it
The lines are the whole point. They give you something to check against when you cannot see your own posture and there is no teacher watching, which makes this a mat for practising alone at home rather than in a studio.
