A Fitzgerald Street studio that takes adults seriously as dancers rather than as an afterthought to the children's timetable — its own description is Perth's only studio teaching exclusively adults and mature-age students. Nineteen styles run across the week, from ballet and tap to flamenco, Bollywood, K-pop and heels, and the levels start at absolute beginner and go through to professional. Six-week BASICS courses run from $120.

My husband Thomas and I were so incredibly lucky to have met Mel! She is not only a phenomenal teacher and expert at her craft, she is such a genuine, kind hearted soul who creates such a warm, fun and welcoming space to speak freely if you want to change anything or ask any questions. Learning our first dance is such a fond memory for the both of us to look back on, the one wedding task that you can fully zone out from everything else and be present with each other. We wanted a “wow” dance and Mel gave us wow! Every lesson was so fun, look no further than Mel for your wedding dance, you will have the best time ever 💃 🕺
I've been looking for a place to do dance classes for years and Dance Workshop being exclusive to adults and no performances is exactly what I wanted! So easy to book, huge variety of classes and the basic classes help build confidence before diving in! Chris is a great teacher, so friendly and makes the classes so fun and enjoyable.
The studio staff are warm and welcoming, the studio bright, fresh and well set up. Every class started with a warm up followed by learning basic dance moves and combinations that led to a dance routine. The classes are fantastic for everyone, people who have never danced before or former dancers wanting to get back into it. Chris’ (instructor) is a fabulous teacher, his skill, enthusiasm, energy, humour and playlist make the 75 min class fly buy! You leave at the end of each class smiling, and slightly sweaty! At the end of 6 weeks I can actually cut a few new dance moves and I have made some new connections! I am feeling more confident, enthusiastic and energised! I can’t wait for the next class to start! Highly recommend this class at DW, Chris rocks!
I did the 5 week jazz beginner class with Debbie, and it was an amazing class. She told us lots of techniques and a nice fun choreography, making it a very interesting course, and she is very funny and enthusiastic, which made the class delightful. Most of the class started with complete beginner level, but by the end we had all improved quite a bit and the final run of the choreography was pretty awesome 🙂
Amazing vibes, great lessons that will give you a taste of flamenco. The classes are designed to learn progressively, at the end you will be surprised of what you can achieve in a short period of time. Deanna is a wonderful person and teacher, highly recommended!
