A weekly early-morning walk or run from the Manning shops, hosted by the community organisation Befriend, finishing with coffee nearby.
WA's longest-established bushwalking club, walking every Sunday: graded hills bushwalks from May to October and park and foreshore walks in the warmer months.
A large social walking group running walks and hikes at different places around Perth each week, including a brisk Sunday-afternoon loop in Kings Park.
An indoor, air-conditioned walk inside Ellenbrook Central every Thursday morning with Befriend hosts: roughly one-kilometre laps, with a cuppa after.
Crystal Ballroom is a ballroom and social dance studio on Marshall Road, Malaga, led by principals Richard and Julie Morrissey. Adults learn waltz, cha-cha, slow rhythm and other social dances in an eight-week Wednesday evening course from 7pm, followed by a social dance until 9.30pm, for $120. People can come solo or with a partner. Kids classes run Saturday mornings at $15 a week, and private lessons, competition coaching and wedding dance packages are also offered.
A free weekly community meditation held outdoors at Bathers Beach in Fremantle, meeting at the hut in front of the art centre on Mews Road. Sessions start at 6.30am each Saturday and follow three steps: a welcome circle, a 20-minute meditation combining mindfulness, breath and gratitude, then a closing circle. Trained volunteer facilitators lead each session. It is free, open to beginners and experienced meditators, has no religious affiliation and needs no registration.
A free morning run and walk club that meets on the grass opposite il Lido at Cottesloe: Fridays at 6am, every second Sunday at 7am, and the last Wednesday of the month at 5.30pm. Groups head out for fifteen to thirty minutes and turn back, so the distance suits whoever turns up, and walkers and dogs are as welcome as runners. The monthly evening session finishes with dinner.
A Fremantle-based men's collective that meets outdoors rather than in a room: monthly trail hikes in John Forrest National Park and Ellis Brook Valley, beach meetups at Trigg, walks around Lake Monger, and a Brazilian jiu jitsu session they call Warrior Flow. Most events are free, with occasional charity runs taking donations. Joining happens through their WhatsApp group.
A Finnish sauna house on Erindale Road, grown out of a mobile sauna that spent a couple of years touring Perth before settling into a permanent room. Sessions are built around aufguss — a facilitator working steam and scent through the sauna in rounds — with hot and cold magnesium plunge pools alongside, and a separate private room for anyone who would rather do sauna and ice bath alone. Physiotherapy and massage are booked from the same room, and the lounge runs group classes and events.
The Centre for Attitudinal Healing's bush retreat an hour south-east of Perth, used by community groups, families and teams. Accommodation runs from a cottage to shared quarters for 23 or 46, with a hall for meetings and meditation, a fully equipped kitchen, an outdoor meeting grove, a winter bonfire area and walking trails through the property. Published rates: cottage $500 a night, the 23-bed wing $1,600, the 46-bed wing $3,000, and hall hire $500 a day Monday to Thursday.

Oria Haven lists 24 wellness practices under Community & Support in Perth, across 16 suburbs. The largest clusters are in Perth CBD (7), Fremantle (2) and Perth Central (2). Five publish a price band, and the most common is under $25 (2 of them). 10 of the 24 run sessions that are free or by donation. Three offer online or hybrid sessions.
1 place here publishes a starting price, from $40 to $40.
15 of these specialise in community & support — it is their main focus. The other 9 list it among other things they offer.
Every listing is hand-checked by Oria Haven. Figures updated 8 October 2026.
Most relevant means practices that specialise in this first, then the ones with the most reviews to go on. A listing that publishes its price, describes itself and names its services gets a small nudge, never more than a quarter of a star, because you can decide on it without ringing. Paid placements are shown once, in their own band, and never move anyone up the list.
The guide
Most of what’s on this page costs nothing. Peer support groups, recovery meetings, walking groups and community circles run on volunteers, donations or small term fees, and several of the organisations listed have operated in Perth for decades.
The formats differ in ways worth knowing before you walk in. Open meetings admit anyone, including people just wanting to see what happens; closed meetings are for people who identify with the group’s purpose. Peer-led groups are run by people with their own experience of the thing the group is about; facilitated groups have a trained convenor. Men’s groups and women’s circles tend to run as ongoing series where the same people return each month, so joining is easier at the start of a term.
One practical warning: meeting times and venues in this category change more often than any other part of the directory, and church halls and community centres get rebooked at short notice. Ring or check the organisation’s own page before you drive across town.

We build the directory ourselves rather than taking paid submissions, so a practice appears because it exists and serves Perth — not because it paid. Practices can claim their listing for nothing and keep it accurate, photos included. Paid plans add booking links, offers and visitor stats. We never take a cut of bookings, and enquiries go straight to the practice.
